I’m a generalist. But not accidentally.

I care about how things get built

SlickLists

A list app that doesn’t fight you about it.

I tried every todo app out there. The popular ones came loaded with features I’d never touch, templates, integrations, dashboards, just to add “call the vet.” Notepad was my go-to, but never quite had enough. I wanted one that let me reorder, nest, and share a list without three taps and a subscription, so I built it. Now I use it every day, which is the only review I actually trust.

It’s free if you want to try it for yourself – SlickLists

EventSynced

Keep every event in sync, everywhere.

Booking details tend to drift. A time changes in a text thread, the calendar invite stays the same, and suddenly half the group has different information.

EventSynced keeps each event’s details connected, so everyone sees the same schedule no matter where they check it.

Built from years of managing bookings and schedules for bands, it replaces the usual patchwork of texts, emails, calendars, and reminders with one reliable source of truth.

Applications & AI agents at Polco

Turning piles of resident feedback into something a human can act on.

A full suite of applications designed and built to empower local governments: Surveys, Polls, Prioritizations, and Simulations, all curated for our public-facing feed. Mix that with data from over 40,000 jurisdictions and a powerful set of AI agents layered on top of them, and you pretty much sum up my work at Polco. I have an amazing team. We are proud of it and have learned so much along the way.

Enterprise retail platform

Multi-platform SaaS ecommerce for 800+ retailers

At AVB, I worked across an interconnected ecommerce ecosystem serving hundreds of independent retailers.
One major platform managed hundreds of thousands of products, inventory, pricing, promotions, manufacturer data, competitor pricing, and integrations with retailers’ existing systems.

When it needed to be rebuilt, I led the project and served as the primary UX/UI designer. The challenge wasn’t making the interface prettier. It was making an enormous amount of information understandable and usable by people doing very different jobs. The system: one underlying product with workflows shaped around the people using it.

In-home product testing app

Enterprise SaaS platform for consumer research

At Highlight, I was the first product hire and helped take the company from a low-code operational system toward a purpose-built enterprise platform.

We mapped how brands created complex in-home product testing programs, then designed software around that complete workflow.

Website builder

More than a thousand websites built. One system.

Our teams were building websites continuously for hundreds of retailers. Bespoke design didn’t scale. I designed a reusable block system that gave designers a library of compliant components they could combine into many different sites without rebuilding the fundamentals every time. It reduced website production time by more than 50%.
The system: constrain the repetitive parts so people can spend their time on the parts that actually require judgment.

Taschen

Food & Drink Infographics Book Feature

I have made dozens of infographics, logos, and other designs. Imagine how honored I was to be contacted by TASCHEN to use one of my illustrations in their books. One of the coffee infographics I designed was selected for publication in TASCHEN’s Food & Drink Infographics book. It’s still pleasantly strange to walk past a bookstore and know one of my designs is sitting inside it.

Package Design

San Francisco Bay Coffee Brands

I was responsible for package design across five coffee brands and numerous private-label programs. Over several years, I designed hundreds of packages and helped rebuild multiple brand families across bags, single-serve coffee, premium products, retail displays, advertising, and supporting material.

The goal wasn’t to create hundreds of unrelated designs.
It was to create enough structure that hundreds of designs could belong together.

Oakland Coffee

Green Day’s own coffee brand

I also was fortunate enough to work on packaging and related creative work for Oakland Coffee, the coffee company founded by members of Green Day.

The work stretched across packaging, an ecommerce website, displays, posters, retail fixtures, and other brand touchpoints.
Funny note: I wasn’t a bass player when I got to hang out with Mike Dirnt. Who knew 😀

ShedStacks

Full rewarding practice application for musicians.

Most musicians know the drill: you sit down to practice, and you play the same three songs you already know cold, because the stuff you actually need to woodshed takes more willpower than you’ve got left in the day. Practice apps either ignore this or turn it into another thing to manage. I wanted a system that manages it for me, points it at what needs work, weights it toward what I keep avoiding, and lets it decide. So I am building ShedStacks, and I’m the first user, running my own practice through it every day until it’s solving the problem for real, not just in theory..
